Ms. Yuki Yu, Future Care’s Director of Asian Marketing, presented at the North American Marine Environment Protection Association’s (NAMEPA) 2018 Annual Conference “The New CSR: Ethical, Strategical, Sustainable” on October 25thaboard the MV Hornblower Infinity at Pier 20 in New York City. Ms. Yu’s speech focused on “Shipping’s Responsibility to the Mariner” and highlighted best practices for the use of telemedical services to improve seafarers’ healthcare at sea and shoreside. Telemedical services, she stressed, are not limited exclusively to emergency treatment – they can, and should, play an important role in preventative care and general wellness. Ms. Yu also highlighted the benefits of telemedicine in addressing mental wellness and treatment.
Additionally, Ms. Yu participated in a discussion headlined as the Ethical Panel.
There were about 120 attendees for the NAMEPA conference, including pioneers and advocators for maritime environment, and representatives from institutions such as the United Nations, Wells Fargo Bank, Montreal Port Authority, as well as major shipping companies and maritime law firms.
